DENVER – Sept. 30, 2025— The Denver Broncos delivered a statement victory at Empower Field on Sunday, defeating the Cincinnati Bengals 28-3 in front of a roaring home crowd. The triumph was fueled by a stifling defensive performance and efficient quarterback play, solidifying Denver’s push for postseason contention.
The Broncos’ defense set the tone early, holding Cincinnati to a lone field goal while racking up four sacks and two interceptions. Linebacker Josey Jewell and cornerback Patrick Surtain II each contributed big plays, while the defensive line consistently pressured Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow.
“If you play defense like that, you’re going to win a lot of football games,” head coach Sean Payton said post-game. “The effort, discipline, and physicality were everything we’ve been preaching.”
Quarterback Jarrett Stidham, stepping in confidently, connected on a third-quarter touchdown pass to Courtland Sutton, marking Sutton’s third score in as many games. Running back Javonte Williams added two rushing touchdowns, giving the Broncos balanced scoring options.
The Bengals, meanwhile, struggled to find rhythm. Their offensive line allowed persistent pressure, limiting Burrow’s effectiveness. Head coach Zac Taylor acknowledged the challenges:
“Denver’s defense kept us on our heels all night. We couldn’t execute our plan, and that’s on us to correct moving forward.”
With the win, Denver climbs back into the AFC playoff conversation, improving morale after an inconsistent start to the season. Cincinnati, however, faces growing questions about its offensive line protection and playoff hopes.
The Broncos now look ahead to a pivotal divisional matchup next week, while the Bengals must regroup quickly to keep postseason aspirations alive.
