UNION, N.J. (WABC/CNN Newsource/WKRC) - At least 6 people were allegedly shot in a New Jersey Chick-fil-A restaurant after several masked suspects entered the business and opened fire.

The shooting took place at around 8:45 p.m. on Saturday, local outlet WABC reported. An employee's father claimed that his son called him panicking, saying that several masked suspects entered the restaurant with firearms and started shooting. The man allegedly said several of his co-workers had been injured in the shooting.

Newsweek reported that at least six people were shot, with one being pronounced dead at the scene.

The boyfriend of one of the employees told CBS News that his girlfriend told him the masked suspects immediately went behind the counter upon entering the restaurant and began shooting.

The shooting was still under investigation, authorities said.
